My daughter has a allergy to corn. This is new news for us. On our list of foods to avoid is VINEGAR. But I see some of you recipes call for vinegar. I am confused. Could you please enlighten me?

Kristy, my son is allergic to corn as well. We found Coconut Vinegar to be a huge help with all our vinegary needs :)

Hi Kristy, I've looked into this before and during the process of making white vinegar, it comes from corn, which in the U.S.- 80% of conventional corn is genetically modified (please look up if you are unsure what this is- it is NOT good) so that's why you've been told to avoid white vinegar. I avoid it as well. On the other hand, apple cider vinegar can be used as an alternative because so far, there are no genetically modified apples, and apple cider vinegar does not have corn in it. You can buy it (the Bragg's apple cider vinegar with the mother is really good) or you can make your own from apple peels and cores. I hope this helps.
